We're changing our name!
Hampton Friends of the Arts will soon be known as "Palmetto Arts & Humanities Alliance"
"We are so proud of what has been accomplished in the last 2 years and feel that the time is right to separate ourselves fully from the past. Our new name attaches us to the Palmetto Theater, and feels appropriate as we expand our reach beyond Hampton County, our growing number of partnerships - particularly with local HBCUs, and our diverse program offerings."
Board Chairman
John G. Wright
Based in Hampton County, South Carolina, our group of dedicated volunteers are working tirelessly to provide enriching experiences in the arts and humanities with a mission to further economic and community development through the arts and improve quality of life for the historically underserved communities of the rural Lowcountry. We are committed to diversity and inclusion in all of our programs and offerings and to providing a platform for artists and presenters from historically underrepresented or marginalized groups. The Palmetto Theater, Art Alley, and the Stanley Arts Center are operated by Hampton Friends of the Arts in partnership with the Hampton County Arts Council. The two organizations share several board members in common and have the same Executive Director.
